Abyss

His real name is Chris Parks and he is in the TNA wrestling organization. While in high school in Cleveland, Ohio, Chris Parks made such an impact on the football field that he had his choice of almosyt every college on football scholarships. He chose Ohio University in 1988, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree in sports administration. He played for a brief time in the NFL for the Pittsburgh Steelers before his career ended in March 1993. In 1995, he joined the Northern Wrestling Federation. In 2001, Parks (as Prince Justice) would leave the NWF and wrestle for NWA Wildside, winning the NWA Wildside Heavyweight title in April and later teaming with future TNA mate A.J. Styles to win the Wildside Tag Team titles, and later battle Jerry "The King" Lawler as part of Memphis Power Pro Championship Wrestling. Parks then headed even further south, all the way to Puerto Rico where he and Miguel Perez won the IWA Tag Team titles. However, the two partners had a falling out and the team split up. On May 17, 2003, Chris Justice defeated Perez to regain control of the titles, opting to give the other championship belt to his new tag team partner Glamour Boy Shane. While in Puerto Rico, Justice/Abyss would also hold the IWA Puerto Rico Hardcore title (twice) and the IWA Intercontinental Championship. In the summer of 2003, Abyss would show up in the NWA-TNA organization, and amid a rocky relationship, was aligned with Kid Kash(Ron Killings). After teaming together to battle America's Most Wanted, Kash blamed Abyss for a loss. Abyss had finally had enough of Kash's abuse and fought back, leading to a feud between the two former partners.
Abyss would find himself aligned with Red Shirt Security Legend and Kevin Northcutt) and NWA Champion Jeff Jarrett. However, on the same night (February 4, 2004) that he was attacked by A.J. Styles during a match against El Leon, Abyss was forced to team with Styles. In an even more ironic twist, Abyss and Styles defeated Red Shirt Security to win the NWA Tag Team titles. Abyss would step into the "6 Sides of Steel" cage at Lockdown in an attempt to defeat A.J. Styles to become the #1 contender. He was unsuccessful, however, and lost to Styles, suffering a seperated shoulder in the process. However, the injury did not keep Abyss out of action for long, as he returned to win the 20-Man Gauntlet Match at Hard Justice, defeating Ron Killings in the final moments. The Monster then entered and later won a "Fight for the Right" tournament to face Sting at Genesis. There, Abyss beat Sting by disqualification to win the NWA World Heavyweight Championship.

Tony Atlas

His real name is Tony White and he was inducted into the WWF Hall of Fame in 2006. Sent to a state childrens home when he was 12, he came back home at 15, he worked out a deal with the local YMCA to clean the weight room in exchange for using the gym. Atlas, who was becoming incredibly muscular in stature, started training in 1974 and was named Mr. Virginia the same day he won the state arm-wrestling and powerlifting titles. He was discovered by George Scott and then trained by The Minnesota Wrecking Crew Gene and Ole Anderson and Larry Sharpe. Billed as the "Black Superman," the 6-3, 297-pound Atlas's strength was uncanny. He bench-pressed 650 pounds, while squatting 800 and curling 350 to go along with a 420-pound military press. By the time he was 19 he had set a Virginia weightlifting record. He held the NWA Georgia Tag Team Titles with Tommy Rich, the WWF tag team titles with Rocky Johnson and the World Class(IWCCW) tag team titles with Skip Young. He is currently a manager playing a heel in TNA(2008)

Mike Awesome

Former ECW World Champion Mike Awesome (real name Michael Alfonso), was found dead in his home on Saturday evening. He was 42 years old. Awesome was found hanging in his home, found by friends, and suicide is suspected. Awesome has been out of the wrestling spotlight since the acquisition of WCW by the WWE (then WWF). He worked a short program after the merger, but never attained the heights he had as a headliner in ECW and in All Japan. Best known to fans for his time in ECW, where he feuded in a wild series of matches with Masato Tanaka over the ECW World title as the company debuted on TNN, Awesome jumped ship to WCW while still champion in April 2000. ECW honcho Paul Heyman threatened legal action for the departure, and an agreement was made that Awesome would return to drop the title to a wrestler of ECW's choosing. That fighter was Taz. His aunt is married to Hulk Hogans brother Horace, thats how he got into professional wrestling.

On the Coldwell Banker real estate site, where Awesome sold real estate under his real name, he addressed his wrestling career in his biography: "I wrestled the majority of my 17 years in Japan, as 'The Gladiator'. I became emerced in the Japanese culture and even speak some of the language. I also wrestled in China, South Korea, Guam, Australia, Germany, England, Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Canada and the United States. I feel blessed to have had such an exciting and successful career in wrestling. I did not employ the services of a business manager during my career. I handled and negotiated all contracts myself."

After years of establishing himself and developing a cult following in Japan's FMW promotion, Mike Awesome made a big impact on the American wrestling scene on September 19, 1999. Competing in the main event of ECW's Anarchy Rulz PPV from Chicago, Mike Awesome captured the ECW Heavyweight title, outlasting Taz and Masato Tanaka in a three way dance.
