New York Yankees New Era 08 AC Stars & Stripes

The 2008 MLB "Stars and Stripes" cap by New Era features a light navy crown and visor, with the teams primary logo embroidered with a US flag design. The MLB logo on the back is also embroidered with the "Stars and Stripes" pattern. A portion of the proceeds that New Era receives will go to WELCOMEBACKVETERANS.ORG, a foundation to help out returning military soldiers

My favorite team since I was a kid, The New York Yankees. I live in Boston. Do you know how hard it is to be a Yankees fan in Boston? You dont unless you live here. Boston fans HATE the Yankees. Not dislike them, not dont care, they HATE them. They are obsessed with the Yankees.

Who is my all time favorite Yankee? Hard to say. Was it Mickey, who my father idolized? Was it Reggie, who was only here a few years when I was a kid but made a HUGE impact? No, I think it is either Donnie baseball, Paul O'Neill or Bernie! All three of them epitomized the Yankees I love!

My goal is to turn this page into a complete resource for Yankees collectors. Not everyone that wore a Yankee uniform is on these pages. Some of the guys that only spent a couple of years with the Yankees are on the regular pages. If you didnt spend most of your career with the yankees but I feel you made a significant contribution(example David Cone), I included you here.

*Leo Durocher

As a player, Leo Durocher was known as a light-hitting, slick-fielding infielder who managed to fashion a 20 year, four team (New York Yankees, Cincinnati Reds, St. Louis Cardinals and Brooklyn Dodgers) career that included two World Series appearances (1928 and 1934). It was as a manager, however, that Durocher truly left an indelible mark on the game. Over a span of 34 years and four teams (1939-1973), Durocher managed a total of 22 seasons with a passion for winning perhaps unequaled in baseball history. Though remembered best for three things (coining the phrase "Nice guys finish last," recognizing and cultivating the immense talents of Willie Mays, and managing the Giants to the 1954 World Series championship), Durocher will go down in baseball lore as a fierce competitor who richly deserved his nomination to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1994.

Billy Martin

One of the greatest managers in baseball history and fun to watch. Yankee great, Martin had the flair for the dramatic. He led the Yankees to two world series championships. He is infamous for two things. His feuds with George Steinbrenner and Reggie Jackson, and his tirades on the umpires. Anyone who watched baseball in the 70's remembers how he would go after the umpires. What a great intimidator!
