Bio

Legendary NWA announcer. An encyclopedia of wrestling knowledge. All true wrestling fans sorely miss him! He was often called the Walter Cronkite of professional wrestling. Cronkite is considered the most credible and most trusted newscaster of all time. Solie brought the same level of credibility to wrestling, no matter how incredible his assignment might be at the time. Nobody ever called a technical wrestling match better than Gordon. My fondest memories of wrestling was growing up in the 70's watching the NWA. Gordon hosted both Florida and Georgia Championship Wrestling shows.

I want to turn this into a tribute site for Gordon Solie. If you have anything to contribute, articles, videos, pics, please let us know and we will include on this site. I was emailing back and forth a few years ago with a woman who I think was Gordons daughter in law. I lost touch but I wish I could contact her again.

Wow, was this back in the day! Before WCW, Gordon interviewing the nature boy in his prime.
