Joe Louis "The Brown Bomber"Seen as the first black athlete in America to be accepted by everyone. He held the title from 1937 through 1949, succesfully defending his title 25 times, that's amazing! His bigest accomplishment, in terms of impact, was his first round knock out of Nazi Germany's Max Schmelling. This was a major blow to Adolph Hitler's insane ideology of the german master race and blacks being mongrels. He had no control over this situation like he did in the olympics with Jesse Owens. There is no boxer I respect more in the history of boxing than Joe Louis. Although I wasn't even born yet when he was fighting, my grandfather has told me countless stories of his greatness(along with a million Tony Zale stories!)
